So the inaugural Women’s Tour of Britain has come to a close, after 5 days of racing around the South East of England. The race saw the riders navigate through the counties of Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk, with the two favourites Lizzie Amstrad and Marianne Vos battling it out. However, the reality was that Swede Emma Johansson, Rosella Ratto and the overall winner Marianne Vos were the only stage winners throughout. Holland born Vos dominated in the final three stages (which she won) seeing her outsprint 26 year old Giorgia Bronzini in the floral town of Bury St Edmunds.
Congrats to Marianne Vos on winning what I hope is the first of many Women’s Tours of Britain!
