What’s the relevance of this caramel spread malarkey? Well, evidently large amounts of the stuff was confiscated from Uruguayan players and supporters at Brazil customs…39kg in fact!
The spread is called dulche de leche, and is apparently extremely popular in Uruguay, but because it was made with milk sanitary documentation was needed. Reports suggest that the Uruguayan fans are blaming Uruguay’s shock defeat to Costa Rica on the lack of caramel spread!
So with the mighty England set to face Uruguay tonight, lets give them something else to whinge about in the form of an early ticket home back to their precious dulche de leche!
COME ON ENGLAND!!!
