The Word Fart And Why Do They Smell So Bad...

Did you know that the word 'fart' is one of the oldest words in the English language? What is more interesting is that the richer your diet is, in sulphur the greater the chances of them smelling really bad. Sulphur rich foods like beans, cabbage, eggs and cheese make your farts smell pretty bad. Fermenting foods do also, so eating your five a day initially might make you a bit unpleasant in the coffee room ;)

Many of us like to pass wind gracefully, away from others as a courteous gesture ( especially us that lift and are on a high protein diet). However Indian tribes greet one another in public with a fart and in China you can actually seek a job as a professional Fart Smeller, pretty sure I wouldn't want that job!!

Farts smelling bad? Might be time to take it easy on the beans on toast ;)
