Overnight oats are a fun and delicious way to enjoy your morning oatmeal in a variety of different ways! Either add fruit, yogurt, nuts or other tasty ingredients to suit your taste buds and sweet toothcravings, whilst also sticking to your dietary macros.
This has to be one of the most simple and easy to create recipes around, all it takes is a few ingredients, simply mixed together and left in the fridge for a couple of hours, or overnight if you can wait!
Another huge benefit of this recipe is that it is mixed with the XL Nutrition Xtra Whey, thus yielding a high amount of protein per portion, ideal for those looking to increase their lean muscle mass and hit their protein goal for the day. I find that this recipe is perfect to be used as a pre-workout meal, this is due to the high protein content as well as the mixture of complex and simple carbohydrates to be utilised as energy.
Additionally, this recipe can also be used as a sweet treat, or even as a dessert following your evening meal. This is a great way of keeping them hunger and sweet tooth cravings at bay.
- 50g Oats
- 1 Scoop Whey Protein – XL Nutrition Xtra Whey (I like to use Vanilla)
- 200ml Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 150g Fat Free Greek Yoghurt
- 100g Blueberries
- Mix together at night and let steep in the fridge until morning.
And that’s it!
A little tip if you decide to add nuts as a topping - Bring more crunch to your breakfast when you add nuts in the morning rather than soaking them in the night before.
