Everyone, and I say everyone because in most gyms I have been in the chit chat between guys to establish how strong someone is, is by stating your bench. It's the all alpha exercise which strangely determines the overall strength of someone. Personally, if you want to know exactly how strong you are compared to your peers, take your bench, squat and deadlift 1RM and total them together. Your squat and deadlift should be much higher than your bench and if they aren't then you know you've got some work to do!!
