Children as young as ten years old are being enrolled onto council run weight loss programmes in an attempt to shed some fat and reduce health risks for later in life. Organisers of the self help programme are advising parents get on board this scheme also, so that we reduce the rate of young children who are over 'healthy weight'.
The scheme encourages physical activity and healthy eating over the course of 12 weeks and ways of boosting self esteem so that the children can be proud of who they are.
It's great to hear that these problems are being addressed and help is there for the children :)
